This interface cable is designed to get the most out of the EQ6 in conjunction with the EQMOD open project, fits on EQ6 and Orion Atlas mounts.

This interface allows to connect a PC with USB port instead of the hand control box with the equatorial mount. In this way, the motors of the mount are controlled directly from the PC. This allows not previously possible functions: ultra-precise Goto, direct autoguiding (via ASCOM), satellite tracking, N-star alignment, synchronization, GPS support, etc ...

Note: Skywatcher and Orion also distribute "Goto-compatible" EQ6 mounts (Skywatcher designation "Syntrek") that do not have the Goto hand control box. These mounts are still fully compatible with EQDir EQ6 Interface, since the built-in electronics and mechanics are exactly the same as those in the Goto models, only the hand control box is different.
